Just incase you were wondering, the visa never came through. I finally got that call late Thursday and just like that I was presented with a free weekend. What a rare occasion. Initially I had grand plans of escaping but to be honest after everything I also need a little R & R. I was chatting with a friend from Australia who used to live with me and our conversation got me thinking about all the places we used to go. I wanted a little London adventure to myself.

I was rather spoilt for my birthday in January and was taken to champagne high tea at The Dorchester with three fabulous friends. (You can check out my blog here if you missed it http://rozalcazar.weebly.com/1/post/2013/01/did-you-say-high-tea-darling.html ). Anyway, it was such a lovely afternoon that we all decided to make it a regular social occasion. Six months later we finally had that date. Nothing like a good girly catch up over a pot of fresh tea and cake. One of the best things to do in London is join the tourists and go explore the wonderful markets on offer. I have already written a blog about Borough Market which you can catch here if you missed it (http://rozalcazar.weebly.com/1/post/2013/01/tourist-for-the-day.html). Another good place to visit is Spitafields Markets. I just love the eclectic range of stalls. You can find some serious treasure here. It was on one of these days that I found a beautiful 8 mm film camera that I just had to have. I have been meaning to order film for a test shoot but to be totally honest I bought it because I just thought it was so beautiful. Now I know it isn't everyone's must have object but I find the camera so inspiring. I just fell in love with the design, they certainly don't make cameras like this any more. |
